Beetroot & Caramelised Onion

You ask how to cook beetroot so it is nice?

One of our favourite ways is grated beetroot and caramelised onion.

Ingredients;

  • Butter

  • 1 Onion sliced

  • 1-2 Beetroots grated

Method:

  • Cut onion in half then slice onion, cook in a small/medium size saucepan with butter on medium - high heat, stirring occasionally to ensure it doesn’t burn on the bottom and evenly caramelises the onion. Once onion is well caramelised add beetroot.

  • Add grated beetroot to saucepan with the caramelised onion, place lid on saucepan and turn heat down to medium-low heat, let the beetroot steam and cook in it is own liquid, stirring occasionally to prevent burning if there is not enough liquid add a very small amount of water.

  • Once cooked through serve and enjoy.
